It seems that the cause is food poisoning at first, but he soon starts to feel intense pain and swelling in his legs, leading to the discovery that he is suffering from a disease where the flu virus attacks the muscle cells. A self-employed plumber starts to vomit just after starting to work night shifts. He tries to hide the condition, but he soon starts misspelling words.
After forcing Jason to give Alfie a job on the sandwich run, Gemma finds herself at a self-defence class run by Tom. When an inflamed Jason gate-crashes the class he is attacked from all sides, and Billy must decide if he can carry on living under Gemma's roof.
