After Jim tells Maggie that Cheryl wants her in a hotel, Maggie gives her grandma's pearl necklace to Dana. Cheryl's upset and goes to the airport to ask her mother' forgiveness, where she learns Dana only got the necklace because she doesn't have anyone in her life like Cheryl has Jim. Meanwhile, the girls think Andy is Santa.

Jack tells the story of when he was helping clean the frat house basement and found a guy strapped, who later he found out to be a ghost. Pacey reveals that he was chased by a black car while giving Karen a ride home, but there was nobody driving the car. Grams arrives and says she has the scariest story: the time when Jen got locked out of the radio booth.

When Red unintentionally inspires Pastor Dave to give up the cloth, he gets into trouble with Kitty and must find a way to steer Dave back to the light.

He considers starting his own graphics company. Felicity asks for Noel's advice about her art project. Noel decides to follow his therapist's recommendation and spend less time with Felicity. Ben grows angry with Trevor for inviting Elena to their study sessions, as they goof off all of the time. Felicity is working in the studio when the building catches on fire. She is unaware of this because the alarms do not sound, and becomes trapped. Noel extinguishes the flames near the door and pulls her outside. Ben and Trevor apologize for their argument and go to see Professor Hodges. They learn that Trevor passed the exam, while Ben scored 9

Lewis and Oswald consult the men for help decorating their new house. Mitch and Les use their connections to help Drew get a job interview at a better store. Drew gets the job, but fears that he is in way over his head. Mitch and Les encourage him to have faith in himself. Drew is told to cut $200,000 from the store's budget by the end of the week. He finds a way to effectively streamline personnel and eliminate unnecessary positions. Unfortunately, he winds up proving that his position isn't essential, and gets fired. Mitch and Les announce that they are moving out, as they have inherited a house. Wick shows up and admits that Winfred-Louder has fallen apart without Drew. He begs Drew to come back, but he refuses. He insists that something better will come along.

During a stressful day at work, Claudia takes a puff of a co-worker's cigarette which quickly turns into an entire cigarette and then a daily habit. Desperate to keep her smoking habit from Sean and the kids, Claudia tries her best to smoke without being found out, but is busted by Lily. Lily makes a deal with her - she won't say anything if Claudia will get her a cell phone and Claudia agrees. Sean thinks that Claudia's bizarre behavior lately has something to do with him, prompting him to buy her the expensive armoire Claudia was admiring recently at the flea market. When her quest for a cigarette leads to her digging through the trash and landing outside Brad O'Keefe's window, she realizes she has hit a new low and swears off her habit. Meanwhile, after setting a date with Dean on her new cell phone, Lily is humiliated to find out Dean heard her gushing about him when the phone didn't turn off.
