The senior trip is coming up and Joey needs to get the time off from work -not an easy task seeing that Drue's mom is her boss. However, she decides to give her a few days off.... if she agrees to go on a double date with Pacey to accompany Drue and a wealthy girl named Anna Evans and make sure that Drue behaves himself. Of course this isn't an easy thing to do, and during their night out, Joey starts to get concerned over all the attention that Anna is bestowing on Pacey. Dawson has his own problems when he and Gretchen go out with her friends and he realizes the span in between their ages. Jack also (finally) gets some positive attention from Tobey.

In reality, Mary is heading home for a huge surprise birthday party for Eric, attended by all the people whose lives he's changed for the better in the past few years. Chores at home are interrupted, however, when Ruthie discovers Frankie and Johnny's baby, Mercy at the Camden front doorstep. Meanwhile, Lucy stays with her friend Mike's (guest-star Jeremy Lelliot) near catatonic mother for the day, and drops a proverbial bomb on Lucy. Also, Matt and Simon try to figure out why they delivered Mrs. Bink (guest-star Eileen Brennan) to the hospital.

Jimmy's best friend, Billy, comes to Los Angeles in hopes of becoming a star. But since Jimmy doesn't have a place of his own for Billy, he instead asks Greg to let his friend pitch a tent in the backyard. Greg, annoyed at having houseguests who have houseguests, makes no secret of the fact that he thinks Billy's dream of acting is a waste of time. Greg later gets jealous after finding out that Jimmy is taking Billy to a hockey game when he had previously offered that extra ticket to Greg. Trying to make up with Greg, Jimmy manages to get a third ticket so the three of them can go, but Greg continues to feel left out when Jimmy and Billy have seats next to each other, and he has to sit alone. Greg feels better after hearing from Jimmy that he's tired of Billy after spending so much time with him. Then both of them are stunned when Billy blows them off after his very first audition lands him a starring role on CBS' The District.

Season 2, Episode 9
Convinced her father is still alive, Hel ignores Voice's protests and goes to see the one man who can help her in her search Creegan. When Hel is denied access to the prison facility holding Creegan, she shoots a guard with a stun gun and, no longer trusting Voice, uses a laser scalpel to remove her Voice receptor. Alarms go off and Hel realizes that Voice has activated them in an attempt to keep her away from Creegan. Stunning more guards, Hel presses on. She enters Creegan's prison chamber, releases him from his deep freeze, and confidently tells him that her father is still alive. Showing Creegan her removed Voice receptor, Hel promises to turn Voice over to him if he will help her find her father. Naturally, Creegan agrees to the deal. Meanwhile in Mauser's lab, Sarge is awakened by the sound of Voice in her head and is none too pleased that she is the new recipient of a Voice receptor. Mauser shows her and Cleopatra a visual of Hel and Creegan escaping the prison and the ladies
