The streets of Glenoak are alive with the sound of music as the Camden family breaks into song for a very special Valentine's Day musical episode. Simon is enjoying having his new girlfriend, Anna, who he just met the day before over at his apartment for Valentine's Day. They both agree to go to Glen Oak, but he decides to keep her away from his family for the time being. Annie displays her unhappiness to Simon in song (along with the rest of passerbys) over his constant dating habits at the promenade as the chorus is going on. Anna overhears this and begins to question Simon and his dating habits as well. Vincent confronts an unhappy Ruthie on the high school bleachers as she's not in the Valentine's Day mood and is upset over watching Martin practice with his team and Zoe blowing kisses at him. After Dee Dee learns that her mother's co-star in a new play is engaged to Dee Dee's idol, esteemed attorney Maxine Shaw, Dee Dee sees an opportunity to atone for a bad interview she once had with the woman. However, Dee Dee believes she has lost her chance after Big Dee Dee (who had to finance the play to ensure she could star in it) gets Max's beau fired because she fears he will take attention away from her. Meanwhile, Mona must find a way to rein in her co-workers after Kai is delayed and leaves her in charge of a company retreat at a resort.

It starts when Breanna, Spirit, and Arnaz standing in the hallway at the school. Arnaz auditioned for a ""Battle Of The Bands"" competition and is waiting until the scores get posted. Then A-Train (Lloyd from the INC) appears and says that he will loose against his group. Then Arnaz makes a joke about his name and A Train says that at least he has a nickname. Spirit laughs which catches the eye of A Train and he asks what is Spirit's name. Meanwhile, Duane tells Flex that he wants to marry Candy. Flex doesn't like the idea, they just got back together. They have a little minor ""argument"" which leaves Duane walking out the apartment. At the practice of Arnaz's band, Breanna gives him and his band new outfits and he doesn't like them. He says that they look like ""hip hop butlers."" Spirit states that she was doing a friend a favor.
