The plot revolves around 16-year-old Giles Gordon, who has just moved to Sunset Cove, "a beautiful coastal surfing town where the sun is always shining, the people are all beautiful and everything is perfect... or so it seems." He enrolls in Atlantis High School, where he soon discovers that Sunset Cove is unlike any town he's ever seen: populated by double-agents, aliens and high school students with blue hair and pointy ears, its inhabitants are eccentric lunatics who at times turn into superheroes or other whimsical figures. Atlantis High both parodies soap operas and pays homage to spoof television.

Maxwell Fong wants $1000 for the potion, but Tommy and Lori does not have that much money, so Tommy traded in his Elway Rookie Card for the money. When they used the potion on Merton, it worked but Merton's senses were lost, so Tommy and Lori visit Fong again to get the antidote to the poison in his body. Fong offered it for $5000 but when he found out that Tommy was a Werewolf, he decided to have Tommy battle his champion in a no rules match, and if he wins, he receives the potion. Tommy did not know that he was up against a Cyclopes.

Even worse, they receive a ransom note from them, demanding Marguerite's jewels in exchange for her release. But when they deliver the ransom, they're shocked to see that Marguerite isn't a prisoner at all - she appears to have joined Locke's group!

Elsewhere, during an unsupervised moment at the clinic, Jim (Mike Farrell) administers an injection to a dog and the animal goes into cardiac arrest when Dr. Malaga (guest star Cress Williams, NBC's 'ER') unwittingly gives the dog another shot of the same drug. Later at home, Joanie (Paula Cale) gives Jim an herbal supplement, not knowing it could cause an ulcer.
