But Jimmy's relationship with Brooke is not nearly as wobbly as Kim would like to think, and Kim ends up jumping into bed with a stranger and then commiserating with her mother over her problems with men, ending in a confrontation with Brooke that forces Kim to rethink what's best for Joey in the matter.

Kim's and Christine's father, Don Ludke, comes for a surprise visit. Greg feels left out as Don has never liked him -- and still doesn't. When Greg's attempts to win him over fail, Christine tells him the real reason her father doesn't like him is because he doesn't respect people who can't do things around the house. Greg changes his plans to buy a jungle gym for the kids after Don says that only an idiot would buy a pre-built jungle gym when he can build his own and save money. In an effort to impress him, Greg tries to build his own jungle gym, but it falls on top of him while he's working on it. After Greg says to Kim that he doesn't want Don in his house again, Jimmy tells him that the way to get on Don's good side is to make him feel smart without intimidating him, like he's wont to do. She presents a microchip to Mauser that, when inserted into his skull, will bypass certain moral inhibitions. Mauser grants his permission and Sarge injects the chip. The two embrace passionately, but Mauser's excitement quickly turns to rage and he begins to strangle Sarge. She shoves him away and Mauser starts firing lasers from his eyes. Hel and Cleopatra enter the lab and Hel unsuccessfully tries to voice-override Mauser. During this process, Hel learns that Mauser was initially designed to kill. While the ladies argue over Mauser's condition, he escapes and starts to make his way to a secret control center, where a mysterious woman tracks his movements. Meanwhile, Voice nervously guides Hel and the others to Mauser's location. With gauntlets drawn, the three enter unfamiliar territory and realize that Mauser's target is Voice. Maus
