Brandon doesn't even want the job, but decides to fight for it after Josh's sister shows him a letter in which Josh spoke highly of Brandon and his ideals. Brandon gets Steve out of a jam when the cops break up a party at the KEG house. Clare takes a liking to David, unaware of his history with Donna. Donna objects when Felice sets her up with a friend's son, until he turns out to be the handsome and charming guy she had just met at a party. Donna declares that she is over David and agrees to help Clare and him with a video project. Valerie continues to spend her days with Steve and her nights with Dylan. The arrival of Helen's elder sister Casey to Nantucket sidetracks Joe's plan to give Helen an engagement ring. What was originally planned to be an evening for two at Lexington's becomes a party of four, with Casey along to catch up with Helen and Brian along to occupy Casey. Then, before Joe can give Helen his ring, Casey gives Helen an even bigger ring as a gift, and Joe's angry frustration brings the night to a halt. He apologizes later that night and gives her the ring, but once again Casey drops in to spoil things. Helen finally stands up to Casey, who then reveals that her husband has left her, and she has no where to go. So Helen invites her to stay with her for as long as she wants.

After three elimination rounds, only one team remains, who then earns the right to go through the Temple to retrieve the artifact within three minutes and win a grand prize.

Brett's belief seems to be validated when he finds himself being given a private tour of the bridge by Commander Lucas, during which he decides to casually mentions some unsettling details about his mother hoping to disinterest the Commander. After saving Jason from a shark while swimming near her island, Neri tells Jason her life story—that which she remembers.

Jo receives a surprise visit from Reed's parents. She reluctantly admits that Reed is the father of her child, and is shocked when the Carters sue her for custody.
