Justin returns from Europe and Julia learns that he wasn't alone. But she has yet to tell him that she spent her summer getting to know Jill's brother, Griffin.

Donna, Kelly, Clare and Valerie try out for the Tournament of Roses Court. The other girls only wish to secure invitations to a ball, but Donna elects to proceed with the tryouts. Felice does not approve of this decision, leaving Donna confused. Colin opts out of the party to work on his mural, but later shows up with Valerie. Kelly throws a hissy fit before Colin explains that nothing is going on. Brandon and Susan cover the Rose Court tryouts for the newspaper, and attend the party together. When they return to the newsroom, Susan grabs Brandon and kisses him. Steve pretends to be sensitive as he woos a woman in a chat room. Clare asks Steve to escort her to the ball. He cuts the date short to meet with his on-line sweetheart, only to find out that it is Clare! Donna and Ray miss the ball because he has to perform at Jessica's birthday party. Toni surprises Dylan when they go motorcycle riding. Dylan admits to Brandon that he is falling for her.

Meanwhile, Antonio executes his revenge on Brian and Casey and Helen takes out her anger on Casey's clothes.

Æon and fellow agent and friend Lindze infiltrate a secret base called the Habitat, a place where mutants and artificial lifeforms live in a stable environment surrounded by a sea of liquid which induces paralysis in any lifeform exposed to it. Lindze and Æon are there both to rescue Lindze's boyfriend and to destroy the facility. Soon after they arrive, Trevor and one of his human experiments arrive, destroying Æon's ship in the process though the experiment is quickly subdued by a swarm of metal-sensitive wasps. It turns out that Lindze's lover, a scientist named Bargeld, is sick from an artificial disease and may have developed a way of changing the composition of the paralyzing fluid around the base ...

Commander Byrne has Forsythe arrested when HELEN identifies him as the sabateur. The kids take care of Liselle, keeping her from contacting UBRI. Neri and Mera are taken back to the island, with Winston, Mick and Zoe acting as decoys to keep UBRI away. Final goodbyes are said as the girls board the spacecraft for home but after the ship leaves, one person has stayed behind. Neri says she must stay to ""finish father's work.""
