Jake suspects that Jess is responsible for his shooting, and is unmoved when Jess keeps Shooters open in his absence. Brooke replaces Alison's love note with a letter in which she states that long distance relationships cannot work. She also complicates Alison's efforts to get in touch with Billy. Billy proposes to Brooke along the boardwalk. Paul says that he is getting a divorce, and asks Matt to help him move out. He then stays inside the house and tells Carol that Matt is stalking him. Kimberly tries to convince everyone that Michael is stalking her, and makes Amanda believe that he vandalized her car. Kimberly trashes the beach house and scratches her own face. She calls the police, then stages a fight with Michael so that he will be arrested. When Kimberly returns to her motel room after a court hearing, a creepy man's image appears in a mirror and talks to her.

Austin persuades Jackie to continue the family tradition of visiting their mountain cabin at the beginning of the spring season. But when Jackie's car breaks down, Marion must drive them. Their plans are thrown into further turmoil by Jackie's ex-husband Milton, who brought his new young bride to the cabin for a romantic weekend.

Graham McVeigh, a thoroughbred ranch owner, kills his brother, and frames a local mob bookie. Then, under the guise of making good on his brother's debt, he kills the bookie as well, claiming self-defense. Mob boss Vincenzo Fortelli starts to exert pressure on McVeigh. To solve the crime Columbo must work with the gangster.

Gary decides to borrow Wayne Donnelly's lucky suit for his dad to wear. Just in case the suit isn't really lucky, Gary asks Lisa to zap the suit and make sure that it's really lucky. As soon as Al Wallace wears the suit, he finds a lot of luck at work. However, this new streak of good luck for Al is causing Wayne to have a huge streak of bad luck. Meanwhile, Chett finds a girl that likes him- a clinically depressed girl.

MacLeod decides to tell Anne the truth about his Immortality and she flies to Paris to be with him. En route, Anne helps save the life of a young woman, Tasha, who turns out to be smuggling drugs for the Russian Mafia. Tasha is the lover of Kristov, the head of the Russian gang and formerly the leader of the band of Cossacks MacLeod encountered on his way to the Orient in 1750. Concerned about Tasha, Anne tries to convince her to testify against Kristov, while Kristov is determined to make sure Tasha dies before she can testify. Richie is kidnapped by Kristov as a pawn in this game. MacLeod must choose between taking down Kristov or saving Richie and Richie finds he must grow as an Immortal -- or die.

An attempt to steal a revolutionary new car with an advanced guidance system is foiled by the Bugs team. The thieves then turn their attention to a millitary vehicle powered by a radioactive RTG, and Ros and Beckett have to cliumb onto the moving driverless vehicle, to stop the explosion from breaking the radioactive container and killing off most of the people in the country.
