Jack Lithgow returns to Britain from Pakistan to find that his daughter, Caroline, has been arrested on heroin charges after a student party. Jack confines her to the family home and watches her night and day until he thinks she's off the drugs - but Caroline has been fooling him. Back in Germany, Helen learns that her husband, Karl, is still owed a lot of money by his dealers, which she sets out to recover, but in a massive police raid Karl's entire network is arrested. The situation seems hopeless; Karl is formally charged with trafficking and a trial date is set. Any chance of recovering the money has now been lost. In Pakistan, Fazal travels to Karachi in search of work and becomes increasingly involved in the heroin empire of Tariq Bhut, a wealthy and influential drug trafficker.

Mr. Zelinka is a beloved teacher who is forced to retire because he has reached the retirement age of 70. The school board president feels that he's teaching responsibilities are too much for him. The students of Lincoln High School plan a birthday party and retirement party as well. They feel their efforts go down hill when their teacher doesn't want to attend the party because of the retirement notice he received. The students gathered together to form a petition to stop their teacher from retiring but face a big battle when they try to present their petition before the president of the school board who has no intention of changing his mind or listening to what the students have to say.

In Hamburg, a popular young German businessman is arrested and accused of being a drugs trafficker. His British wife, Helen, is faced with social and financial ruin and decides to take the family's future into her own hands. Jack Lithgow, a minister at the British Home Office, is responsible for overseeing a new aid agreement with Pakistan to reduce production of opium there. He visits Pakistan on a fact-finding mission and is approached by Fazal, a local farmer who complains bitterly that the aid and promised grants never reach the local communities. The story in Pakistan follows Fazal and other farmers once their illegal poppy fields have been discovered.

Unbeknownst to them, a coven of black witches, led originally be Lewis Vendredi and then by his female lieutenant are also trying to get the ladder. They cast a spell on Ryan, turning him into a mindless slave who brings them the necklace from the Vault. Jack and Micki, tapping into Micki's latent occult powers, manage to break the spell on Ryan, recover the witches' ladder, and destroy the coven.

Wayne seacrest is suddenly fired from his job as a computer programmer because the left on the bus breaks down. Jonathan and Mark asked for Wayne's assistance in getting better access to places for handicapped people. Wayne attends a ribbon cutting ceremony and uses the occasion to put people on notice about building ramps and widening bathroom stalls for handicapped people.

Niles Talbot moved from the country to the big city to get a job as an electrian but ended up as an executioner. His trouble begins when he's suddenly uemployed and decides to take the law into his own hands. On Christmas Eve, a woman slaughters her husband and learns that she's on Santa's naughty list when an escaped maniac dressed as Santa Claus shows up at her doorstep with a special present for her. A bum named Ulric is given the chance of a lifetime when a scientist puts the gland of a cat inside his body. Soon Ulric becomes the main attraction at a sideshow.

Season 2, Episode 25
A crook names Railsback gets hold of a World War II kamikazi jacket. When smeared with the blood of a murderered victim, it lets the wearer become invisible. Railsback is in prison, but uses the jacket to escape and try to recover the stolen loot. He has to kill his former gang members to get it, a task made easier by the jacket. Railsback ends up killing Johnny Ventura's father, a security guard at a storage depot where some of the money is hid. Johnny is arrested for the crime, and put into the same prison as Railsback. He finds out about the jacket and tries to recover it, while Micki, Ryan and Jack try to clear his name from the outside. Ultimiately, Johnny manages to douse the invisible Railsback with gasoline and set him on fire, killing him and leaving the indestructible antique intact to be put into the Vault. Johnny is cleared of the charges.

Jonathan tries two teach two kids the right way to report a story. But after a bus accident Diane Nichols gets the bus driver in big trouble because she was angry that he was married. The two kids see the opportunity to report the story incorrectly leading to the bus driver losing his job.
