The guards deduce that the professor has finished his latest invention, a new powerful ray called the Mesmo. Just then, the Mach Five approaches at high speed and jumps the gate. The alarm sounds, but not before the armed burglar can steal some important documents. The next day, at the Racer home, Spritle is working on a model of the Mach Five in the garage. Speed wakes up after a late night out. He turns on the television, and the news is reporting the burglary at the secret National Science Institute. Spritle takes his car out for a test drive. Billy Blue Cannon faces possible hanging when he is court-martialed on the charge of killing an army general's son. Billy Blue saves an Indian girl from advances by a drunken army lieutenant, who is killed in the fight. When the girl flees to the Apache stronghold, Buck and Manolito risk their lives to persuade Cochise to release Blue's only eyewitness. Her testimony is discarded when the court learns her release was obtained by a bribe. It becomes obvious to John Cannon that the court-appointed defense is incapable of saving Billy Blue, and John personally takes over his son's defense.

Season 2, Episode 12
Rollin-as-Wayne orders the death of Jim, who is impersonating a federal investigator, without getting the approval of the Syndicate Council. With Jim's killing a a distraction, Rollin breaks into the safe at Syndicate HQ and duplicates the financial records. The Council, unhappy with ""Wayne's"" independence and the fact that the murder is attracting headlines, condemn him to death. Rollin runs, but at the last moment switches place with the real Wayne, who has received plastic surgeon to make him look like Rollin. Wayne is killed by the hitman, Johnny, and the records are used to bust the Syndicate.
