The boys do everything possible to keep their wives from seeing the show when it airs on television, and almost succeed.

Granny says they have no friends in Beverly Hills. Mrs. Schuyler-Potts expels Jethro from her school for being disruptive. Mrs. Drysdale wants to lock up all of Elly's critters. The Clampetts want to go back to the hills. Mr. Drysdale's efforts to prove to the Clampetts that Beverly Hills is really the place for them to be only makes matters worse.

When Jamie is accused of sexually assaulting Buck's wife, he becomes frightened and runs away. The crew foreman, Dan Pike, convinces Buck to organize a posse to hunt down Jamie and kill him.
