But before construction begins, Mina and Karen get some devastating permit news from the city, forcing them to rethink the size of the structure. On the inside, the women cover the ceiling with reclaimed barnwood and have some custom barn doors made, and Karen and her husband take on a DIY flooring project. Karen hopes that size restrictions and construction costs don't get in the way of making this the farmhouse-inspired guesthouse of her dreams.
