However Martin is shocked to learn how far Andrea will go to get her way, leading to his dumping her. He is also appalled to discover that his father had a mistress, by whom he has a daughter, as well as being a dishonest businessman, breaking safety rules to save money. He thus attempts to rectify matters, winning back the loyalty of his staff in the process.
