This one-hour special updates viewers on what has happened to five of our hoarders one year after they received crisis assistance from the HOARDERS Team. The stories include: Vula who was about to lose her cat hoard and her hoarded home to the city and animal protective services; Dumpster diving, Al, whose three-year-old son had been removed from the hoarded home by child protective services; Jim whose exterior and interior hoard was so extreme, the city had condemned the property and his family was no longer allowed to return home without a clean up; Arline whose hoard was so bad her ailing husband was forced to sleep in a car: and Glen, the man with a 2500 rat hoard running through his house.

Hesitant because of his obvious feelings for Emma, Ethan obliges, only to have the dinner cut short by a disturbing visit from Dan. As Emma and Ethan struggle to keep order in Arizona, Sutton and Thayer discover shocking revelations in Los Angeles pertaining to the search for the girls' birth mother. Although the outcome may not turn out to be what Sutton had hoped for, it does lead her to wonder what everyone around her has been hiding for all these years. Will Sutton be able to find the answer about why she and Emma were separated, or will her curiosity put her and her loved ones' lives in danger? Meanwhile, Laurel falls for a new guy in school hoping she will finally have something of her own, as opposed to always being in Sutton's shadow. Unfortunately her wishful thinking is cut short when Char calls dibs on the one Laurel did not want to share.

Jack is joined by Mastermind host John Humphrys and DJ Lisa Snowdon, while DJ Scott Mills and the larger than life character of Brian Butterfield are on Ulrika's team. Angelos plays a special version of Mastermind with John, and Lisa is treated to a snapshot of what life might be like with Vic, should they ever live together. The final challenge sees Jack squeeze into an explosive pram - an image not to be missed.

As preperations for Enishi and Takako continue, Ohana gets a call from Satsuki, who talks about the one-sided love she had for Ohana's late father, and decides to continue her own one-sided crush on Kō. Later, as Minko continues her antagonistic attitude towards Ohana, the two end up fighting, during which Tōru overhears about Minko's crush on him. He then comforts her, admitting that he has a liking for Ohana, but still holds Minko's feelings in regard. Minko decides she won't give up on her crush on Tōru and makes up with Ohana, allowing Enishi and Takako's wedding to go smoothly. After the wedding, Sui announces that Denryoku is planning to retire from Kissuiso and that his logs, along with Kissuiso, will be sealed up.

Jim Sterling asks Nate for help taking down a researcher who has designed a nuclear weight that will allow a terrorist nation to manufacture enriched uranium. However, it soon becomes clear that the Interpol agent has an ulterior motive, one which isolates Nate, gets Sophie arrested, and takes Eliot out of commission.
