Timmy refuses but Mom and Dad – excited that someone else is going to pay for Timmy's college – eagerly accept the offer. Timmy is given a dark suit with dark powers and the proviso that if Timmy tries it and doesn't want it, Dark Laser will leave Earth alone forever. Timmy agrees, and soon it seems he's fallen under the evil spell of the evil suit.

At the United Nations, the ambassadors have been concerned about the inability of German security forces to handle the Amalgams and agrees to send in UN peacekeepers to eliminate the Amalgams after being told of the elimination of XAT and the capture of the Luftwaffe base. Victor communicated with surviving members of the German government after the country has fallen to a near state of anarchy. Amanda encounters a young Blassreiter named Snow while trying to locate Hermann.
