With his father Ken at his bedside, it becomes apparent the two have not been truthful with each other in their lives and their major trust issues affect how the medical team gets the information it needs to help solve Carnell's case. Carnell soon develops other symptoms, and House's team suspects it might be from a Spring Break trip out of the country, but have to dig deeper to get all the information. Meanwhile, House has his own issues with his father and is trying unsuccessfully to get out of a dinner engagement with his parents when they arrive in town.

Rory is pleasantly surprised when her old flame Jess appears at her grandparents' house and reveals an amazing development in his life. Rory agrees to go to dinner with Jess, and when Logan unexpectedly joins them, an ugly confrontation develops, leaving both Rory and Logan to face the choices they have made. Emily is concerned about Rory's sudden evasiveness and tries to exert some parental discipline. Meanwhile, Luke agrees to sponsor a local girls soccer team and Lorelai channels all her concerns about Rory into caring for her dog, Paul Anka

Mike first goes to the Chimney Safety Institute of America in Plainfield, IN and learns how to be a certified chimney sweeper. Mike then goes to Ontario, Canada to salvage underwater logs, which are then used to make furniture. Finally, Mike visits a scrap metal recycler in St. Louis, MO and learns how to separate different metals and operate some big machines.

When bodies of two hired assassins are delivered to the NCIS team, Ziva & Tony go undercover assuming the victim's identities in order to find the person who hired the assassins for their mission. While working on the case, Ziva & Tony spend some quality time in a luxury hotel and the attraction between them arises. Gibbs discovers that his team is not the only one working on the case.

Meanwhile, Tobias mistakes a CIA agent for a CAA agent and inadvertently betrays the family, and Michael makes Rita a proposal she can't refuse. Frankie Muniz makes a cameo as himself.
