Ladies Night at the Jockey proves to be more trouble than its worth. For one thing its full of blokes which only serves to anger Jez. Fiona eyes up footballer Ryan but when she wakes up the next morning it isn't Ryan who is lying next to her. Instead its the less-than-desirable Joey Dawson. Fiona decides to take contraception but before she can actually take them Liam swallows them and then Marty traps Joey's arm in a door. At the hospital they discover that Joey's arm is broken but Liam is fine and there will be no ill effects. A follow up visit from social services isn't as simple for the Gallagher family. The inspector is Katrina a woman who went to school with Fiona and who's life was apparently hell because of Fiona dubbing her "Sperm Whale". But the family pass the visit but Katrina reveals she's engaded-to Joey Dawson. At the Jockey Joey confesses he loves Fiona while Ryan lets slip to Katrina that Fiona and Joey were all over each other the night before.

Elsewhere, Ed is slapped with jury duty on Valentine's day and deals with the wrath of Jillian (Cheryl Ladd), who thinks he's avoiding the special day on purpose. Despite his efforts to get himself off of the hook, the judge refuses, leaving Ed to have to trust Mike with manning the homebase.

However, when Horatio finds that Clavo Cruz, a nemesis of Horatio's who hides behind his diplomatic immunity, may be behind the operation, the team must find a legal way to put the criminal behind bars. Meanwhile, Wolfe must find the truth when two women each claim that they are the real victim of identity theft and the other is the culprit.

Simon is enjoying having his new girlfriend, Anna, who he just met the day before over at his apartment for Valentine's Day. They both agree to go to Glen Oak, but he decides to keep her away from his family for the time being. Annie displays her unhappiness to Simon in song (along with the rest of passerbys) over his constant dating habits at the promenade as the chorus is going on. Anna overhears this and begins to question Simon and his dating habits as well. Vincent confronts an unhappy Ruthie on the high school bleachers as she's not in the Valentine's Day mood and is upset over watching Martin practice with his team and Zoe blowing kisses at him. It starts when Breanna, Spirit, and Arnaz standing in the hallway at the school. Arnaz auditioned for a ""Battle Of The Bands"" competition and is waiting until the scores get posted. Then A-Train (Lloyd from the INC) appears and says that he will loose against his group. Then Arnaz makes a joke about his name and A Train says that at least he has a nickname. Spirit laughs which catches the eye of A Train and he asks what is Spirit's name. Meanwhile, Duane tells Flex that he wants to marry Candy. Flex doesn't like the idea, they just got back together.
