Gibbs believes that Ducky might be the next victim of the killer, so he orders the team to keep him and his mother safe. Even so, Ducky is kidnapped during the investigation and now the team must find him before it's too late.

Lastly, we flashback to Amanda (Anne Heche) and John earlier in their marriage of a more happier time with their son Charlie, right before he has his stroke.

It's cruise season in Miami, which means that the population of Miami swells, giving the team even more suspects to the murder. Meanwhile, Calleigh must investigate when a woman goes missing, and is later found dead, after she and her husband attend a hot and flirty "friction" party.

Kelly irritates her mother by getting a lip ring. Ozzy and Jack are convinced that Kelly's erratic behavior and chronic illness are the result of drug use, but Sharon refuses to hear of it. Kelly eventually admits the truth to Sharon and enters rehab. Ozzy and Sharon don't believe she will stay at the facility for long.

William is forced to reveal that Lynn was the best sex he ever had--but Lynn doesn't feel the same.

When the hotel enters one of its slowest weeks of the year, Ed decides to stir things up a bit by switching everyone's job positions around so they can walk in one another's shoes. Meanwhile, Danny is in charge of the casino floor and runs into an old high school buddy who's having extremely unusual and suspicious luck winning millions of dollars. Elsewhere, Mike is put to the task of clearing a traffic ticket that Ed claims is wrong - despite the fact that there are photos to prove his guilt.
