The morning after, Joey and Pacey discover they've overslept and missed the bus back to Capeside. While they wait for the next one, the couple find themselves confronted with the tensions that accompany the latest development of their relationship. Meanwhile, as punishment for breaking into her hotel mini-bar during the class ski trip, Mr. Kasdan decides to send Jen to a psychologist where she can discuss her "inner teen issues." Back in Capeside, Joey and Dawson's paths collide and they spend an evening catching up on the past weekend and its many happenings. Sensing a change in Joey's demeanor, he poses the unthinkable question, forcing Joey to consider whether honesty is the best policy. Dawson has to come to terms with Brooks' death and is surprised to discover he is in his will.

Meanwhile, Sally tells Chaz, the Channel 10 anchorman, that she would like to start presenting the news instead, and so he agrees to let her interview Lightfoot in the company's box at the Rutherdome; but really, he intends to seduce her.
Mary's feelings for Robbie resurface when she inadvertently finds out he has a secret date for Valentine's Day, and the whole family schemes to uncover the mystery woman. Meanwhile, with the exception of Lucy who has a date with Jeremy, the other Camden kids feel deflated when their Valentine's plans fall through and they end up stuck at home celebrating Sam and David's second birthday. Lucy and Jeremy's first date does not go as expected as they both keep on running into Lucy's ex-boyfriends. Although all's well that ends well by the end of the episode for everyone.
Hel, Sarge and Cleopatra are in Mauser's lab when a distortion grenade suddenly rolls through the holographic door. After a moment of chaos, the grenade explodes and a wave of visual distortion ripples through the area. The team stumble around completely disoriented as two men, Marcus and Strayton , enter the lab. They wear high-tech goggles that negate the effects of the distortion and easily fend off Hel and Sarge. Marcus introduces himself as the new team leader and Strayton as his second in command. Hel and Sarge exchange a look because they recognize Marcus' name. He was the first team leader that Voice recruited when the Resistance began. Marcus tells them that Voice has put him in charge because she feels they have endangered critical Resistance missions that have nearly exposed Voice herself. Moesha continues to help Dorian search for his birth mother. Hakeem thinks that Moesha shouldn't go digging up the past or she'll be faced with the possibility of a painful past. She assures Hakeem that she realizes the consequences but wants to continue the search for Dorian's sake. They notify a couple of women by the name of Barbara Lee. After tracking her down and learning that her actual name is Barbara Kennedy, Dorian becomes face-to-face with the woman who abandoned him. He learns that his mother also has a daughter, Reecy, and a son named Ray-Ray. When they all sit down and have a conversation, Barbara reveals some shocking news involving Moesha's mother, which Moesha can't accept. Angry and upset, Moesha leaves the apartment. Meanwhile, Frank is challenged to a race against Myles's friend's uncle. After winning the race, Frank's celebration is ruined when he learns that Moesha has been searching for Dorian's mother.
Joan is upset when Sean must go out of town for Valentine's Day. Her frustration grows when she is unable to get in touch with him. Davis, who has recently reunited with his fiancée, stuns Joan by kissing her and offering to end his relationship to be with her.
