Season 2, Episode 1
The team is assigned to protect Marla, a former bootlegger turned peacekeeper, at a meeting between mutants and warlords. Sarge leaves to pick up her sister Lily to take to the gala and Hel and Cleopatra go to meet Marla. Lily waits for Sarge at a local hangout and Slade, Sarge's former renegade Black Watch leader, approaches her. Lily reveals that she's meeting Sarge and two hoodlums inject her with a parasite that will kill her in three hours. When Sarge goes to the bar she is met by Slade (hologram) who tells her that if she kills Marla she will get the antidote. Cleopatra drags Lily off as Sarge goes to find Marla. Terrified, Lily tells Cleopatra what happened at the bar and they rush to find Hel. Meanwhile, Sarge enters Marla's quarters and the two women begin to fight. Sarge is about to blow Marla away when Hel, Cleopatra and Lily barge in and convince Sarge to hunt down Slade instead and find the antidote. In his attempt to escape, the Andromeda and Captain Hunt are caught in the event horizon of a black hole and frozen in time for 300 years. The crew of the Eureka Maru with Captain Beka Valentine try to salvage the Andromeda to sell for a Nightsider's ransom. After the Andromeda is pulled free, Hunt is unfrozen and forced to defend his ship against the salvagers and the Nietzschean mercenaries lead by Tyr Anasazi.

Kim drives Greg up the wall when she worries that Sam isn't walking yet. Jimmy advises Greg that he should let Kim have the day off if he wants her to lighten up. So Greg arranges for Kim and Christine to go a day spa, giving him and Jimmy a day alone with the kids at the park. Jimmy gets hot at the park, and talks Greg into taking the kids someplace else that's cool -- a casino. Greg catches Sam on tape taking his first steps in the casino lobby, but then realizes that he can't show the video to Kim because of where it was taken. While waiting for their massages, Christine manages to talk Kim into relaxing more when she returns home. Jimmy pays a friend to digitally alter the background in the tape to a park, so Greg can show it to Kim. Kim is thrilled to watch it, until she -- and everyone else -- views Sam walking right over a pond! Greg has no choice but to come clean with Kim about what happened, causing her to unravel all over again.

Meanwhile, Heather and Matt's on-again-off-again relationship threatens to be off-again--- permanently. Matt considers the pre-med track at college and Ruthie learns that she will have to spend another year with her despised third grade teacher, Ms. Riddle.
