Nina is trying so spend some quality time with her granddaughter Tess. Chloe asks Nina to keep Tess from bars, boys and clubs, but all Tess wants is to get wild. She throws herself at men at a bar and later at Finch, who pretends to be the magazine's editor. When Tess runs away, Chloe and Nina find her at Dennis's, and they all offer to sleep with him in order to keep Tess from doing so. Meanwhile, Jack insists on giving Maya a birthday present, but has no luck with his ideas or Elliot's. She gets mad not because of the meaningless gifts, but because it's really not her birthday and her father should know better. Still, they both feel like it's someone's birthday – and it is: Maya's mother!

Cheryl leaves Jim in charge of their kids and some other kids who were there to play with the girls during a Bears game. The next day, one of the kids mom calls Cheryl saying her daughter dame home repeating a swearing she heard from Jim. Cheryl apologizes for him and Jim is insulted that she always automatically takes the other person's side. Cheryl apologizes, and not too later Grace repeats the exact same word. Jim decides to teach her not to repeat it by making her say it non stop until she can't say it again. It works. 5 days later, at Ruby's ballet presentation, she slips, falls and says the word, unmasking Jim's guilt.

Joey and Audrey go to a nightclub to celebrate both Joey's grades and fall break. There, Audrey tries to convince Joey to have some real fun. Charlie is also there and he hits on Joey, who turns him down for what he did to Jen. But Charlie doesn't give up so easily and dares Joey to do something wild. She accepts the dare and goes on the stage to sing with the band. Excited about it, she kisses Charlie. Meanwhile, Pacey sees himself hanging out with Audrey after he joins the ladies at the club to celebrate his new promotion. And Dawson and Jen go back to Capeside, where they have their first fight over what Dawson will do with his life. At the end he decides to move in to Grams's attic in Boston and move on with his life.

Kate puts together a video résumé for Drew to help him attract more potential new employers. He immediately receives a call from Proctor & Gamble, and gets a dinner interview. Winfred-Louder begins to fall apart because of Mr. Wick's incompetence. The janitorial staff refuses to pick up the garbage after he insults them. Wick pleads with Drew to return to the store as co-manager, but Drew feels that he can do better for himself. Mr. Wick's promiscuous and very masculine mother tries to intervene on her son's behalf. She shows up at Drew's house and tries to force herself on him. Wick walks in on them and freaks out. Drew misses his chance at the Proctor & Gamble job because of Mrs. Wick's interference. Mr. Wick stops showing up for work, and seems to have completely vanished. The board of directors asks Drew to become the new manager, and he accepts. Clark visits Metropolis in this episode, and does a secret good deed - a police detective witnesses this and decides to look into it. He contacts Lex and reminds Lex that he knows about his past in order to get him to talk. The detective, Phelan, discovers that Clark had been around many "accident scenes" in recent months, and he decides to look into it. Phelan begins blackmailing Clark to help protect him from an IA investigation. When Clark balks Phelan frames Jonathan. Clark manages to set up Phelan for the theft of a rare piece at a museum and Phelan is killed in the shootout before he can tell anyone about Clark's secret. Lex is left to wonder at the superspeed image captured on a museum camera.
Frasier
Season 9, Episode 13
Daphne and Niles continue to try and hide the fact that they have moved in with each other from Mrs. Moon. She makes such a mess of things that the only way she will leave is if Simon takes care of her, but Simon has left for California. Meanwhile, Frasier's neighbor Cam drapes the American flag over his balcony, and Frasier cannot complain because it would seem unpatriotic.
