Joran enlists the help of a fellow "star child", Rachael, who is able to hypnotize people with the power of her will to do her bidding to help him kill Johnny and assume his power. They both follow Johnny and friends to a ski resort where Johnny is set to play to play with a famous musician,Woody Gillis. Joran uses to Rachael as a deterrent to distract Johnny from who he really is and who his friends are,turning him into a detestable person. The battle reaches it's climax where Joran leads Nightman to the top of a mountain known as "Devil's Run" for a showdown, hand to hand With Johnny's friends trapped in a car under an avalanche that Joran caused,and time running out, Nightman ultimately fights Joran over the top of the mountain, and Joran falls to his death.
