A new designer drug hits the street. It is called 'Thrill' and it breaks down your inhibitions and imbues you with a euphoric sense of invincibility. Sammo and Tyrell have to deal with a gang of 'Thrill junkies' when a traffic jam they are in is attacked. They stop the gang but Sammo's leg is broken in the process. He ends up in the same hospital as Ludlow Teale, the government's chief negotiator for the Middle East. Kyle Strode returns to town and Grace continues trying to get inside his organization so that she can find Lone Wei. The MCU investigations reveal that Scorpio has something to do with 'Thrill' and they plan a major operation to show it's potential.

Gideon Banks lost his wife Liz and son Simon in a horrific car accident some twenty years ago. At the time of the accident he was involved in something called the Neural Archiving Project - NAP for short. The technology was developed to create smart computers - transferring human engrams to computers. The company eventually gave up on the technology, but Gideon didn't. After years of quietly perfecting it, he built a small robot, from parts he stole from Concorde Robotics, where he now works. Zoe, Gideon's niece, discovers Gideon's secret, the robot contains actual neural engrams from the real Simon. She becomes worried not only about Gideon but also about the robot that sounds and acts a lot like her little cousin used to.

Meanwhile, after a fire ruins Phoebe and Rachel's apartment, they're forced to find temporary living spaces with Monica and Joey.

Donna insists on looking after Noah as he recovers from his injuries. Noah tries to rekindle their relationship, but Donna has moved on. Camille becomes jealous of the closeness between David and Donna. Although David and Donna try to establish some boundaries, neither seems very happy about it. Steve's brother Ryan comes to visit for spring break. He is a pre-med major at Amherst. Ryan goes drinking at clubs with Steve every night, lies around like a pig all day, and mouths off to Janet. Janet opines that Ryan is trying to live up to Steve's reputation. Ryan reveals that he wound up on academic probation because of his constant partying, and dropped out of school. Kelly starts her own public relations firm.

He ultimately enlists James to compete against the man in a ""pig-off"" to decide whether the stand will stay or move. The mayor befriends a rapper who sampled one of his speeches in a song. Paul and Deirdre have memories of having sex at a concert 20 years before, driving Stuart jealous.

It's Christmas in a lower level, an Artificial Surface Environment that is set up as a holographic 21st Century small town. But a Betrayer robot is killing one of Voice's freedom fighter teams, so Hel, Sarge and Cleo are dispatched to help them. In the snowy climate they find a family with a little girl, which makes Hel homesick (or is that time sick?). They find one team member dead and Cleo makes like a cop to keep the crowds at bay. Later, while Cleo and Hel watch townspeople do a Macarena-like dance, Sarge finds the resistance leader, Xev, who has been badly hurt by the robot. Xev tells them the robot is either the father, the mother of the little girl in the family they've watched, but Voice orders them all to return to the base. Xev goes back to the town to confront the father, who is a Betrayer, but only succeeds in getting himself killed. Sarge has a showdown with the robot and with a little help from Hel, she triumphs.
