The Mayor is preparing to run the Olympic torch around City Hall, but can't because the Nigerian speed walker supposed to deliver the torch to him has disappeared, lost in the city. Mike struggles with the fact that he can't live without his job, while trying to take a vacation. Nikki finds a ringer to pose as her boyfriend, for them to have dinner with Mike. Stacy spills the beans to Mike about Nikki's feelings for him.

Naturally everything: Richard's choice of the perfect negligée for Caroline to wear gets switched for Del's brother's barbeque apron; their room is given away to another couple who have gotten married after not seeing each other for 30 years; and the bed and breakfast is run by a bitter, bickering pair of neurotics who ultimately throw Caroline and Richard out. But Richard saves the day by getting Annie and Del to turn Caroline's apartment into a romantic fantasyland - which, we learn in the coda, they enjoy for several consecutive days...

A Jaridian probe crashes into earth and disrupts the Commonality, leading the Taelons to round up suspected Resistance members to be harvested for their life force energy to feed the draining Commonality. As Augur, Maiya and the others lie near death, their souls are in a dream world. Liam, in a comatose state, finds them and tries to bring them back, but they are happy in their dreams and refuse to return. Lili and Sandoval locate the probe in Australia.
