A new type of food called Phodex has been created and it is made from some sort of algae. Ros, Ed and Beckett are called to investigate about this stuff, and Ros ends up getting trapped in some room, with the oxygen levels slowly decreasing. However, Ed and Beckett realise all is not right when the creator of Phodex tells them that Ros has gone to the hairdressers. They find her just in time and she is OK. However, a short while later, the team find out the secret of Phodex, that it is toxic when exposed to ultra violet light, and Ros ends up eating some contaminated Phodex, and starts to die. There is soon a race against time for Ed and Beckett to save Ros and the other people who have eaten the toxic Phodex, and Ros' condition gradually begins to deteriorate, as her vision goes blurred and she keeps collapsing. When a valuable DaVinci sketch is stolen from a friend of MacLeod's in a robbery that killed two guards, MacLeod offers to act as go-between to ransom it back. He discovers the sketch was stolen by Kagan, an Immortal he faced once before, when Kagan was a bank robber in 1930 Paris and MacLeod killed his mentor. Meanwhile, Maurice asks MacLeod to talk to his troubled niece, Simone. Simone turns out to be more troubled than Maurice knows -- she's a prostitute and Kagan's accomplice. MacLeod goes after Kagan, who protests his innocence in the deaths of the guards and who promises MacLeod that he'll change his ways if MacLeod will help him. When Simone, the only one who knows Kagan is the killer, is killed, MacLeod realizes that Kagan could never really change and confronts Kagan, taking his head.

Carol finally goes into labor. Frank rushes everyone to the hospital while Cody is taping everything on videotape. Carol had decided to have the baby without any anesthetic, but every time she has a contraction, she changes her mind (changing it back after the contraction, of course). The doctor convinces her that it is just as healthy for the baby to take drugs. JT, who was supposed to drive the kids, leaves the Foster kids at home. When the Fosters arrive, they begin fighting again with the Lamberts. Cody steps in and shows them how they have been happier when they have assisted one another. Lilly Foster Lambert is born!!

Regine begins the process of moving out of the apartment. Khadijah and Synclaire interview a prospective new roommate, an obnoxious woman who smokes and has creditors on her tail. In spite of this, Khadijah is willing to give her a try--until she insults Regine. Unable to cope with the tension, Synclaire begins to display as many traits of a nicotine addict as are possible without actually smoking or chewing tobacco. She pleads with Khadijah to apologize to Regine and ask her to stay. Just as Regine is about to depart, Khadijah breaks down and apologizes. Regine refuses to reconsider, as she believes that it is time for her to move on. Khadijah slams the door in her face. Meanwhile, Max is actually purchasing groceries when the store is held up. Kyle stumbles through the door and subdues the man. Max is certain that he has saved her life. She runs across the store and flings herself on him, and later offers to cook him dinner as an expression of her gratitude. Kyle confesses to Overton

Martin and Gina flee to the Bahamas with Tommy and Pam to escape their families constant bickering. As the couples make last minute preparations, Martin gets stuck in an elevator with Tommy, while Pam accidentally ruins Gina's wedding gown. After the diasters have passed, Martin and Gina are free to take part in their long-awaited oceanside wedding.
