An axe murderer on death row is given a stay of execution just moments before it was to take place, on the grounds that there may have been tainted DNA analysis used at his trial. Now, without using any DNA evidence, the team must race against time and reexamine all of the physical evidence in the case, just as they get a call on a new double murder that looks suspiciously like the case they're working on.

Darnell shows up at Maya's apartment drunk after the bachelor party and says that he loves her. Meanwhile, Lynn continues to battle her feelings of jealousy regarding Finn. William begins to complain about the restaurant, prompting Joan to suggest that he is actually dealing with issues about their break-up. After going into false labor, Toni vows to live life to its fullest in the short time left before she gives birth.

When they robbed the bank they stole shoulder pads and one of the girls is the daughter of the president of the bank that was being robbed. Lucy has a mystery of for a long to figure out after her grandmother gives her a jewelry box. When the team opens the box to find out what it contains they are all very surprised at what falls out of the box. Lucy learns that the letters her grandmother kept were from her first love named Oscar. Sue and Lucy decide to track down Oscar because he still wants to see Lucy's grandmother. Lucy is shocked when her grandmother learns of her surprise.
