Season 5, Episode 17
Charlie asks Joey to sing with his band at a distant club, which requires Pacey to give them a ride. Pacey and Charlie hate each other, and it takes a patient Audrey to keep them from going at each other's throats. Joey is nervous and isn't well received by the audience, until Charlie helps her with a duet. Still, he doesn't give up putting his moves on her. Audrey and Pacey, on the other hand, seem to be more and more in synchrony. Meanwhile, Dawson, Jen, Jack and Grams drive up to Capeside for Lily's 1st birthday, and Dawson finds out his mother has a significant other. Meanwhile, Jen confesses to Jack that she wants to break up with Dawson, while he is conflicted with the possibility of loving Joey again.

Musician Ricky Mathis becomes an overnight sensation thanks to his song "Rock Legend." When his music causes his fans to become obsessive and destructive, Sam, Alex, and Clover are called in to investigate the cause of this fanatical behavior under the guise of a supporting band. While Clover is enchanted by Ricky's music, Sam and Alex investigate the recording studio and discover they are using special glowing CDs that brainwash listeners. They must stop manager Sebastian Saga from using Ricky's music to take over the world. In the subplot, Clover has a crush on schoolmate Damon Reynolds, who plays guitar and hangs out with school diva and rival Mandy.
Felicity
Season 4, Episode 14
Ben decides that he wants to play an active role in his child's life. Lauren is pleased; but has already made arrangements to move to Arizona to be near her parents. Ben talks to Professor Hodges about the possibility of transferring to the University of Arizona. Adam's design wins the contest, and Felicity accepts an offer to stay in New York and help with his project. Hodges tells Ben that the deadline for admission has passed, but his friend can pull some strings and get him accepted. He must make his final decision in the next day. Felicity is upset that Ben failed to tell her about his possible move. She tells Adam that she may have to turn down the job. Trevor convinces Ben that Noel is still trying to make a move on Felicity. A tearful Felicity confides in Noel about Ben's situation. Ben catches them in an embrace and becomes angry. He says that he wouldn't have slept with Lauren if Felicity hadn't cheated on him. They break up, and Felicity accepts the job with Adam

While exploring a crashed vessel on a desolate planet, the Enterprise crew is haunted by some ghostly figures, and they encounter an alien race that has survived despite insurmountable odds. Trip helps repair their derelict vessel and is befriended by Liana, an attractive humanoid alien who develops feelings for him.

George worries about Carmen when she brings a boy home for the first time. He persuades Max to spy on them, but despite finding no impropriety, George threatens Duncan, embarrassing Carmen. Later, George replies to instant messages on Carmen's computer, pretending to be her. Although this infuriates both Carmen and Angie when they find out, George then goes to a party and further humiliates Carmen with his overprotectiveness. Finally, Carmen sadly ends the relationship with Duncan, not because of her father, but because Duncan tried to pressure her into having sex too soon. Carmen forgives George, who realizes that she is more responsible than he thought.

Drew is perplexed when Steve attacks one of the other fathers at Gus's kiddie gym with little provocation. Drew theorizes that Steve is just frustrated at being cooped up with the baby all the time and having no adult conversation. He hires him to fill an opening in the cosmetics department, despite Wick's objections. Drew visits Steve on the job and points out some matters that he needs to handle. Steve suddenly begins pounding a customer who tries to return a bottle of perfume without a receipt. Kate figures out that Steve's behavior is the result of jealousy over Drew's professional success. Drew looks at some old home movies and gets Steve to admit that he has always resented him because he liked having their parents to himself. When Sean and Claudia win a free weekend in Atlantic City, Eddie offers to look after the boys while they are away. At first suspicious of his offer, they succumb because they desperately want the time away. But when they return from their trip to find Jimmy and Henry locked in the basement, they are shocked to find out that it was Lily and not Eddie who put them there. As Lily tries to explain what happened at home over the weekend, it becomes clear to Sean and Claudia that, surprisingly, Eddie was not such a bad choice to take care of the kids after all, even if he really did have an ulterior motive.

Despite Greg's reluctance to engage in a college prank at this stage in his life, Dharma leaves him no choice when she rallies the gang to help him win back his championship title in a relatively amusing parody of Mission: Impossible. Meanwhile, security guard Larry is disturbed when his supervisor Walter points out that he gets special treatment because his daughter is married to the boss's son. When Larry demands Edward rescind all special treatment, Walter obligingly fires Larry.

Season 5, Episode 19
When Dharma discovers that her drivers license has expired, Greg demands that she be a little more responsible—which is when Dharma discovers she has lost the priceless family heirloom diamong ring Kitty gave her. She discovers it on the roof, coated with tar; and when she takes it to a jeweler for cleaning, she learns it is, in fact, just a really good fake, leading to a confrontation with Kitty. Meanwhile, Pete turns to Dharma for help in getting Gretchen to go out with him. Her simple, sound advice works... Soon Gretchen is head-over-heels for Pete—and he can't stand it. Also, we see Marlene as a judgmental book clerk, and learn that Greg has finally fired her.

Ozzy works with a personal trainer and attends rehearsals in preparation for an upcoming tour. He also records a series of silly videos that feature him in drag (including a spoof of the ""Lady Marmalade"" video) to be displayed on the giant screen during the shows. Sharon and Kelly upset Ozzy with their tendency to go on shopping sprees. They try to pull the wool over Ozzy's eyes, lying about what they have purchased and just how much they have spent. Kelly takes Ozzy's credit card without permission and manages to lose it. Sharon covers for her until she is able to find it in her truck. Sharon, Kelly and some of the dogs accompany Ozzy on the tour, while Jack stays home and tries to get his own record label started. Ozzy is appalled to discover some of the garish special effects to be used in conjunction with the shows, especially a bubble machine. He repeatedly complains about this to Sharon. Sharon tries to keep the tour itinerary hidden from Ozzy.
