CJ mangles physicist by referring to them as psychics as Josh listens from his sick bed. A subplot involves a reception for radio talk show hosts. Dr. Jenna Jacobs, whose doctorate is in English Lit., is one of those attending. Sam encourages a friend to run for office, unfortunately it doesn't go as he intended.

She reveals that during their sophomore year, she answered a question when she wasn't really listening and inadvertently advised Drew to get black glasses instead of contacts. Drew was then seen as a nerd and received regular beatings. Lewis argues that he is at fault because he introduced Drew to beer during their junior year. Oswald confesses to spilling chocolate milk all over Drew's application to MIT, then replacing the essay with moronic babbling. He didn't tell Drew, who sent in the application. Mrs. Valentine worries about Andie's mental stability and denies her the spot. When the storm get bigger, Andie takes control of the situation and guides everybody to rescue Jen and Pacey, who admit to each other their biggest regrets in life. Jen regrets never being in love, despite her feelings for Henry, and Pacey regrets the destruction of his friendship with Dawson. Dawson and Joey go on a small boat to rescue them, and Dawson saves Pacey's life. He apologizes to Dawson for all his attitude over the past months.
