So Mama heads for the rally to get her wallet back and Iola heads for the theatre. But Mama gets arrested along with the the other's at the rally and gets locked up, even though she tries to convince them she's not homeless. The phone is busy when she calls home so she's out of luck and into the cell she goes. Where she discovers that the people there are much like her, including her Cousin Cora.

A Man Called Hawk is a prime time television series that ran on the ABC television network between January 1989 and May 1989. The series is a spin-off of the crime drama series Spenser: For Hire, and features the character Hawk, who first appeared in the 1976 novel Promised Land, the fourth in the series of Spenser novels by mystery writer Robert B. Parker. Brooks reprised the role of Hawk in four subsequent TV movies: Spenser: Ceremony, Spenser: Pale Kings and Princes, Spenser: The Judas Goat, and Spenser: A Savage Place. Each is considered a sequel to Spenser: For Hire.

During the Spring cleaning, Jesse learns what "little cause, big effect" means when he accidentally breaks a drawer handle in the kitchen, and ends up having to renovate the kitchen's entire network of cabinets and drawers because the broken handle's design has been discontinued, and a new design Jesse buys doesn't go very well with the cabinet design that is in the kitchen, so Jesse buys cabinets that go with the new handles. Meanwhile, Stephanie is frantic. It seems that Mr. Bear, the stuffed toy that the girls' mother Pam Tanner gave Stephanie on the day Pam brought newborn Michelle home from the hospital, is missing. Stephanie doesn't want to lose Mr. Bear, because it was a gift from Pam, and it reminds Stephanie of her.

Kim feels insecure, as she is no longer Mr. Gaines' favorite employee. Ron endures campus-wide embarrassment after a classmate gives him a terrible haircut.
