Magnum has been hired by a woman to act out some of her rich, bored sister's fantasy dramas, concocted from 1930s Dashiell Hammett films. Louie goes to see his elderly mother, who initially won't speak to him, but eventually agrees to come home with him and all is well again.

Buck soon learns that he can not even trust Wilma and Hawk to help him solve the mystery of what has happened.
