The IMF must get her to return to the U.S. and recover the gold. The O'Connel's are set up in a house run by Casey and led to believe it's haunted by Robert - their gunsels turn up ""dead"" and Hannah contacts shopkeeper Barney to arrange a voodoo exorcism. Hannah blacks out thanks to the IMF and they send her son Thomas running after faking him killing Willy over Casey. When Hannah wakes up Barney tells her that Robert is alive and got her to tell him the location of the gold while she was unconscious. Hannah hires Jim as a pilot to take her to the gold and the IMF move in for the arrest.

Fred and Lamont have bills coming out of their ears and consider going on welfare, something Fred refuses to do. Fred comes up with a plan to throw a "big party" in the Sanford home and charge admission. That's when two hoods show wanting a part of the action. An elderly business associate of Ben's is killed after a man, posing as Candy, tries to rob her; the woman suffers a fatal heart attack, which - since it happens during the commission of a felony - is considered to be the same as if the assailant had pulled the trigger. The real Candy, who had been assaulted at a hotel by the same man, is held in connection with the old woman's death. A woman named Kate is the only one who can back up Candy's alibi, but she has left town with her husband, who is the thief. Griff agrees to go after Kate and have her provide a statement. Only thing is, he discovers - as Ben and Joe do later - that she, too, has a past that, if revealed at trial, could do serious harm to Candy's defense. Meanwhile, Ben is unsure about the young defense attorney's ability to defend Candy, particularly since the state's attorney has a nearly spotless conviction record. But the budding lawyer is determined to play David to the prosecutor's Goliath.

After seeing the sights in historical Boston, the gang is off to pay a surprise visit to Shaggy's Great Uncle Nathaniel. On the way they stumble upon The Harlem Globetrotters, who are picnicing and trying to rest up after a string of games they played around Boston. Back on the road to Uncle Nat's, Shaggy takes control of The Mystery Machine, and they begin to encounter ghosts resembling Paul Revere and soldiers of war in the road along the way. When the gangs get to Uncle Nat's, he reveals that the ghosts have scared everyone away -- and they're doing they're best to try to scare him away too. Soon the kids, Globetrotters and Uncle Nat begin running into ghosts all over the house. The following morning, everyone is on their way to a local cove when Uncle Nat tells them to keep their eyes peeled for a sea serpent that's been spotted in the lake -- subsequently Shaggy, Scooby, Meadowlark, and Curly encounter the the monster while scuba-diving. Fred and Velma come to the conclusion
