The platoon travels to a secret location to be trained at a battle school. After a long train journey and a march in which they get hopelessly lost, they arrive late and end up missing two meals and the third is virtually inedible. Starving and tired the platoon tackles the assault course in which they try their best to get back at Mainwaring for getting them lost. The platoon then has to capture the 'enemy's camp' held by Capt. Rodrigues and his men. This task looks impossible but can Mainwaring save the day and win back the respect of his troops? Meanwhile Walker tries to raid the nearby farm to get food for his starving comrades.

Mark's aunt Ruby is cheated out of her life savings by a pair of conmen, and the team set out to capture those responsible. Ed and Eve go under cover as a rich couple, but the investigation is threatened when Ed's cover is blown by a woman he once arrested.

As the 1969-1970 season begins, we are greeted by an all-new Darrin Stephens. Tabitha is jealous of the new baby and decides to run away in the storybook of ""Jack and the Beanstalk"". Phyllis sees Jack and is very confused about what is going on. Samantha finds out that Tabitha twitched herself into the storybook and goes in to get her back. She finds Tabitha shrinking the story's giant and messing up the entire story. Samantha tells Tabitha to put everything right back where she found it and brings her home.
Then Came Bronson
Season 1, Episode 1
In the season opener Jim Bronson takes a temp job at Hanrahan School, a summer camp for disturbed children run by noted therapist Edward Hanrahan and his daughter Doris Hanrahan. Doris is by chance an old girlfriend of Bronson. He becomes affected by a small autistic boy John known as ""the runner"" for his penchant to flee. Edward Hanrahan gives Bronson wide latitude in dealing with John and this leads to complications.

Mainwaring is under orders to be more co-operative with the ARP wardens; a task that's made very difficult by their newly appointed chief. Walker strikes a deal with Jones to make it easier for him to carry rationed goods without being stopped by the police - he is to let the platoon use his butcher's van as a troop carrier and ambulance by day and let Walker use it by night. He bribes Jones with the promise that Jones will receive petrol coupons for it. Unfortunately things don't entirely go to plan...

When the plane lands the crew is met by anxious airport officials, notifying them that they are not 30 minutes early, but six days overdue. Department S has a vested interest in the flight, because Sir Curtis was aboard. As they begin investigating, people start dying.
