When Billy Blue Cannon is forced into a showdown with wanted gunfighters, he is saved by a wandering dentist who proves to be fast with a gun. John Cannon returns the favor to Doc Henry by agreeing to send Billy Blue to help the dentist establish a practice in Tucson. Billy Blue is kidnapped en route and held for ransom by the gunfighters, Jacques Dubois and Kid Curry. The boy loses faith in his new friend when the dentist throws in with the crooks. John Cannon corners Doc Henry with the ransom and prepares for a shoot-out.
Walter DuBruis is a criminal financier in Africa, and has made a deal with a countefeiter, Rag Tagoor. DuBruis will pass the fake money that Tagoor manufactures, wrecking the pro-Western country of Ghalea. DuBruis is above the law unless there is firm evidence, so the IMF have to put him out of business. Cinnamon tries to corner the market on a company's copper stock, interesting DuBruis by mentioning her husband has found a new vein of copper. DuBruis plans to buy the stock for himself, but needs money. Conveniently, Rollin fakes an epileptic seizure, and DuBruis discovers that Rollin is a counterfeiter. He makes a deal with Rollin to make up fake money to make up the $5 million he needs, by providing his own $3 million as a sample. Thanks to a fake machine and Barney passing out special paper, the deal goes smoothly, but Barney substitutes fake money for DuBruis' real money, too. With Lilly passed out at the wheel, Speed realizes that Slash Jr. is driving the Melange via remote control. Unable to overtake it, Speed pulls over and discovers that Trixie has stowed away. Up ahead, the Melange approaches the Three Roses Club cars. Trixie sends a message in the homing robot that car number 3 is really the X3 Melange. Meanwhile, the Melange causes two of the Club cars to crash. Speed takes a shortcut over the mountain. He intersects the remaining Club car and the Melange car. Slash Jr. follows overhead, shooting at Speed. The sound of the gunfire, coupled with the thunder of the helicopter, causes an avalanche. Speed and Trixie climb to safety. Meanwhile, Inspector Detector, Pops, and a convoy of police officials head out to capture Slash Jr. Speed catches up to the driverless Melange. While Trixie takes over the Mach 5's steering wheel, Speed jumps into the Melange. Unfortunately, Speed is too late, and the Melange collides with the third Club car.
While out on a practice race, Speed is almost run off the track by a mysterious black car. Later that night, the black car gains on an automobile whose driver recognizes it as the X3. Before causing the auto to crash, the black car broadcasts, "Melange still races." A second car is also caused to crash. The next day, Inspector Detector asks for Speed's help. While Spritle and Chim Chim hide in the Mach 5's trunk with a tape recorder, a chase ensues, but the X3 outdistances Speed. Spritle produces a tape recording of the X3's message. Pops explains that the recent victims were the coaches of the Three Roses Club race team, the expected victors of the Danger Pass Race. However, they were worried Slash Market driving car number X3, the Melange, might beat them. Mysteriously, the Melange crashed. Pops recalls that Slash had two children – Slash Jr. and Lilly. The Inspector, Speed, and Trixie pay the siblings a visit and learn that they know nothing.

After Samantha finally realizes what Tabitha has done, she pops all the goblins back to home: only Glady's nephew has traded places with one of the goblins. They end up turning Glady's nephew into a goat, and Tabitha ends up returning the ghouls to their rightful place.
