William Espinosa Ubando was arrested at his co-worker’s house on September 20, 2010 for the brutal beating of his girlfriend, Ritchie Lei Lusung Campued. The couple, both married and with children, had met in December 2009 while working together in a care centre. Ditching their partners, Ubando and Campued moved in together, but the relationship soon soured as Ubando became obsessive; When Campued wanted to break it off, Ubando began threatening to kill her. Following a confrontation, the 41-yr old man retrieved a baseball bat from his car and thrashed his girlfriend of 10 months to death with it. Desperate, Ubando piled the body into the passenger seat of his car and began driving around. With nowhere to turn, he called his ex-wife and confessed before arriving at his co-workers house. Ubando was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.
