On Pavuvu, Sledge, assigned to the th Marines, st Marine Division, is briefly reunited with Phillips and Leckie rejoins his company. Sledge then gets his first taste of combat as he, Leckie, and the rest of the st Marine Division meet fierce Japanese resistance while landing on the intricately and heavily defended coral island of Peleliu.

When the police are called to diffuse a rowdy crowd at Mr. Burns' estate, one of the officers recognizes priceless stolen paintings on the walls, and the maniacal billionaire is taken downtown for questioning. These unfair working conditions prompt Homer and his crew to devise a plan to bust out Mr. Burns.
