Kyan even does the same for Josh, who is proud as a peacock and sends a picture to every girl who ever rejected him; only naturally radiant Ryan is simply too perfect as he is. Scumbag dad Ted had promised tickets for an Andy Vargas concert, but was dumped by Laurie Dean, who would have got them, so he forces Fran to bring the downer. Fran soldiers on till she gets everyone in, and made-up Josh hits on with charming Tina. Back home, the truth gets known, the make-up wears off and Ryan sweetly proves he listened when Fran blurted out she missed out on a memorable sweet sixteen herself.

Jack has his hands full with keeping Danny in check and hunting down Emil Dornvald, the mercenary who had previously worked for General Gamba. Things get sticky when Victor Fitzgerald and Tom Banes of Homeland Security get involved, determined to make a deal with Nuru, whom Jack believes isn't the friendly that Homeland Security believes he is.

Focuses on the relationship between Elizabeth I and the Earl of Leicester, her admirer and trusted advisor. They agree they cannot marry because of strategy and politics, but Leicester remains on intimate terms with her and her advisor. He feels threatened by the Queen's interest in the Duke of Anjou as a suitor and does what he can to disrupt the courtship. The Queen also has to deal with threats posed by Mary Queen of Scots, culminating in the latter's execution after involvement in plots against Elizabeth, as well as war with Spain. There is victory over the Armada and Spanish threat, but Elizabeth's joy at this is overshadowed by the death of Leicester.

Smoldering heat forces some Survivors to cool off in the water, risking an encounter with crocodiles. As a tribe attempts to rebuild their shelter, one member takes matters into their own hands and irritates the others. Causing sleepless nights, an inconsiderate howler monkey drives one castaway crazy. A termite-infested log becomes a delicacy for some castaways desperate for a change in their diet.
