They drag a reluctant Nikki to the auditions, but when Nikki actually gets the part, Jen is furious. Traitor! How could she, she HATES boy bands! Jen refuses to talk to Nikki - until she uncovers Nikki's deep, dark secret - she's a CLOSET BOY BAND FAN! The guys, for their part, can't STAND boy bands... and having been abandoned by the girls for Dog Toy for the week, they resort to typical teenaged guy behaviour. The girls have obviously had a tempering affect on them - without their influence, they run wild around the mall... and hilarity ensues. Jonsey gets a job as the mall mascot and gets fired.

On 25 January 1990, Avianca Flight 52, a flight to New York City from Colombia, is delayed numerous times by bad weather en route and is dangerously low on fuel as it attempts a landing. Wind shear forces the crew to abort the approach just one mile from the runway. They initiate a go-around, but are directed back into a holding pattern by air traffic controllers who are unaware of the low fuel situation. The Boeing 707 then runs out of fuel, causing it to crash on Long Island near New York.

As is the pattern with the previous train wrecks, an undecipherable numerical code is left at the site, which Don recruits Charlie to solve. By breaking the code, Charlie is able to establish that this accident was a recreation of a deadly wreck that left only one survivor several years ago. Don's investigation leads him and his team to a dangerous standoff with their suspect, who has surprising ties to the railway system.
