Sonic investigates the ship thinking the weapon can be destroyed by removing its reactor, however his efforts fail and he goes to Knuckles for help, because he believes the weapon is powered by the Chaos Emerald.

Joanie must make a painful decision when she discovers that the obedient employee in her dog store eatery has been behaving more and more like a canine.

Lightening is said to be able to change a person's life and so it does for Jimmy who does indeed have a change in life. After the bolt strikes him Jimmy is left in a coma, desparetly wanting Jimmy to be okay Emily wishes that he could be a ‘man of great wisdom'. When he awakens her wish has been granted, the damage which he sustained from the well accident seems to have vanished. Life changes dramatically for Jimmy as he achieves everything including world acclaim. But nothing can be compared to the joy of seeing Eve again.

On September 14, 1998, a Hollywood Squares revival debuted with Tom Bergeron as its host. In addition to her production duties, Whoopi Goldberg served as the permanent center square, with series head writer Bruce Vilanch, Gilbert Gottfried, Martin Mull, and Caroline Rhea as regular panelists and Brad Garrett, Bobcat Goldthwait, Jeffrey Tambor, George Wallace, Kathy Griffin and various others as semi-regular panelists. Shadoe Stevens returned to announce, although he was not given a square on the panel as he had been when John Davidson was host.
