However, after learning the radio operator they're tracking died recently in a mysterious traffic accident, they find a second phone number for another suspect operator. Meanwhile, Bach stumbles onto evidence that the Hive has been rejecting some abductees.

When Kano creates unnatural holes on earth with the purpose to torment the defenders the Earth Warriors know that the Black Dragon is back again. Nightwolf uses his magic force to find out the place where the black dragons are. Their shelter is hidden under an Egyptian pyramid. When the Earth Warriors arrive there, they encounter and defeat the mummie-guards. Then the struggle with Kano begins, who had already lost a earlier fight with Sonya in the first Mortal Kombat tournament. He again loses the fight, Kano tells them that the pyramid is rigged with explosives, but the Earth Warriors escape the pyramid just in time to escape that explosion.

Nightcrawler gets a mysterious message. He is informed that his birth mother (whom he never knew) is in trouble. He turns to the X-Men for assistance. Jubilee is baffled that Nightcrawler wants to help the mother who abandoned him -- she has never known her birth parents and feels pretty hostile toward them, whoever they are. Nightcrawler admits there has been pain, but his faith in God has helped him overcome her rejection. The plot thickens when one of the team members recognizes Nightcrawler's mother's voice.
