Micki, Johnny, and Jack are taking a break, and star-gazing in Jack's old hometown. However, a ghostly biker gang, the Midnight Riders, rolls into town. At the same time, Jack's father Cawley, who has been gone for ten years, also shows up. The gang is out for revenge, as they were falsely accused of raping a girl who lied to protect her reputation and explain the fact she was pregnant. Jack's father was one of the ones who killed the gang and hid the secret. It turns out that Jack's father is also a ghost: he died at sea, but has returned on the anniversary of the gang's death. The girl and the others who participated in the gang's death are killed, and after a brief reunion with his son, Cawley's ghost disappears as well.

While the party's music is playing, Kimmy tries to get D.J. and Kevin to dance with each other, but they're too nervous, so Kimmy and the rest of D.J.'s friends try to get D.J. and Kevin to kiss by setting them up during a game of "spin the bottle". After a spin, just as D.J. and Kevin are about to kiss, Danny, Jesse, and Joey -- who overheard the whole situation -- get overprotective and barge in and stop it from happening. D.J. becomes furious and feels embarrassed by what the guys did, and she feels that they have ruined her 13th birthday. Becky talks to D.J. and the guys, and the guys remember that they themselves played "spin the bottle" when they were D.J.'s age, so after D.J. talks to Becky about the situation, the guys apologize to D.J. for overreacting, and D.J. apologizes for being angry.

Clair Huxtable visits the Hillman campus to videotape the students discussing their goals for the future. Although the taping is supposed to resemble a professional interview, Clair winds up playing the role of counselor. Freddie opts out of the interview in order to work on an archaeology assignment. She notices discrepancies between the Gilbert Hall laundry room and its original blueprints. She knocks down a wall and discovers a hidden room, which was part of the Underground Railroad that aided escaping slaves. Freddie is overwhelmed by her discovery and vows to make a difference with her life.
