George and Jane accompany Mr. Spacely to a business convention where they hope to show off the company's latest invention, the EXIT (EXecutive Instant Transporter). Meanwhile, Judy is in charge of the household as Elroy tests his own invention, a Dog Trainer, in hopes of earning money helping the neighborhood dogs to better behave themselves. But a mix-up of program discs causes near disastrous results on both sides that could lead to George's firing and Elroy having to look for all the missing dogs.
All at once, Zarkon's countless slave planets begin revolting at the same time. The evil King's armies are spread thin, and the Alliance stages a major offensive. Princess Allura and the Voltron Force once again take the fight to Zarkon. Zarkon fights back by trying to sacrifice Prince Lotor, but Merla has a change of heart and protects him. Then she begs the Voltron Force to help her save Lotor from the Pit of Skulls.

Maury is transported back in time and meets Shakespeare. During a heat wave in the 1930's a mother and her son enjoy a drive in the country. They encounter a strange man who wants a ride. Four friends and a fifth's stand-in get together for a game of poker. The fifth man, Nick, has an uncanny knack for drawing three-of-a-kinds...in 6s. The men figure out that Nick is the Devil, come to claim one of them. The unlucky man offers to play the Devil a game of poker to get his soul free.

Monkian goes to Mumm-Ra and agrees to give him anything if Mumm-Ra will make him powerful enough to rule Third Earth. Mumm-Ra agrees, and gives him Power Spheres which make him super strong and give him super weapons. He freezes all the Thundercats, then defeats Lion-O and takes the Sword of Omens back to Mumm-Ra. Mumm-Ra takes it, and then says that Monkian's part of the bargain will be that he can keep the spheres, but he has to stay in Mumm-Ra's pyramid for all eternity. Walls surround Monkian, and every time he breaks them down, a new set of walls shows up. While Monkian and Mumm-Ra are arguing, Lion-O retrieves the Sword and frees the other Thundercats. Monkian gives up his power to be free again.
