Howard wakes up in a prison cell to find out some terrible news about his best man Ben. It's a mad rush to the wedding rehearsal but sadly things don't go quite to plan and an ambulance is called to the church. Still they can look forward to a nice meal with the whole Cook family and Howard's father Ron and his lap dancer girlfriend Trish (Lizzie Roper). Howard and Mel are determined not to let their family differences get in the way of their happiness and finally sneak away to enjoy some time to themselves, unfortunately their flirting ends in disaster for Granny Cook (Hazel Douglas).
Megatron has taken yet another plan, to create three meteors from Unicron and propel them at Earth before the Energon grid has been completed. Dr. Jones notices Desert City's Energon tower has a fault, rendering the Energon Grid useless. Meanwhile, the meteors enter Earth's atmosphere, but one is destroyed by Rodimus, aided by more mysterious Blackout drones.

Ride Owner: Mary. Female. Owner's Ride: 1967 Ford Mustang. Mary's ride, "Matty Mustang" as she likes to call it, belonged to Mary's sister and her mother before it was passed onto her. Unfortunately, after 15 years with the fam, "Matty Mustang" needs a lot of work. The Mustang is three different colors, four if you count rust, the windows are broken, there is stuffing from the seats everywhere, and although the seat belts work, the seats aren't even bolted to the car, and there is no floor beneath the driver's chair. Mary is taking her life into her hands with this ride, but, after all of these years, Matty is family. Mary even took an auto shop class to try to fix up her Mustang, but soon found out shop wasn't her thing when she tried to super glue the car back together. Thankfully Xzibit is on the scene to help revive this family heirloom. Xzibit is about to pimp her ride. Despite Svettie's unease and Carter's misery at his father leaving, Backa decides to take a crew. It doesn't take long to find volunteers - Joey, Eris, Luisa and Kieran are eager to depart. Lill, realising that seventy-two hours away would give her a break from Perry, is suddenly ready to sign up too. As the Lost River fire brigade prepares for a long hot Christmas away, their families prepare to celebrate as best they can without their loved ones. Svettie can't shake off a feeling of impending doom and it's only made worse when Sharpie informs her their cash crop is dying from lack of rain. They devise a plan to get much needed water to their plantation, but it's one that involves 'borrowing' a big red fire truck. The Lost River brigade is keen for action, but when they arrive down south, they're told to stand by and wait. With a bit of time on their hands, it is the action off the fire ground that is the focus of attention, and there is a surprise moment of passion between two of our favourite firies. Some strategic planning pays off for Backa when the Lost River crew is able to save property and lives.

Their investigations swiftly uncover a trail of high class frauds and suspicious deaths, but also lead to suspension for one of the squad.
