Ally is asked to be a pallbearer at the funeral of her ex-law professor. The widow, Katherine Dawson, invites her to give the eulogy, but Ally's initial reluctance betrays the reason. In a moment of complete vulnerability, she confesses to Billy who supports her by agreeing to attend the funeral with her. This unnerves Georgia, and Cheanie, who are both feeling threatened when they realize Billy is helping Ally out during a difficult time in her life. Georgia confronts Billy, and Cheanie confronts Ally, who refuses to tell him why she's been upset lately. He doesn't understand why she chooses to confide in Billy over him.

Craig's ad agency collapses after Eric pressures his investors. Kyle accuses Amanda of being insensitive to Craig's situation. She offers Craig a job, which he rejects. Billy nearly proposes to Samantha, but backs off. When Sam says that she wants to marry him, he declares that he is not ready for marriage. She leaves him. Kyle is annoyed when Eric decides to move to Los Angeles. Michael accompanies Peter to a medical conference in Santa Barbara to escape Taylor's demands that he ""service"" her. He is left completely exhausted when both Taylor and a suddenly conciliatory Megan show up at his hotel. Brett's ex-wife, Lexi, comes to town to discuss their financial arrangement. She and Peter are instantly drawn to each other. Taylor is certain that Michael has gotten her pregnant. Mrs. Shaw warns Brett to stay away from Michael, but Brett says that he is developing a plan to ruin him.

By this, Eric accidently finds the letter leading to think Matt and Heather got married over the summer, which worries himself, Annie and Heather's mom, Mrs. Cain. Lastly, Eric helps Lucy's friend, Laurie get closer to her mother.

Jovan Mijovich has been elected as premier of his new nation, but there is a hit man out to assassinate him. Nikita and Michael, along with other Section One operatives, are dispatched to provide security. During the inaugural celebration, the hit man is taken out, but a hostage situation develops that no one expected. A man, Bruner, claims Mijovich raped and blinded his daughter during the nation's civil war, and threatens to kill him. Nikita tries to defuse the situation, and manages to keep Mijovich alive for the time being, but when Bruner's daughter appears to give her side of the story, the accuracy of her testimony will mean the difference between peace and war for her people.
