Someone opens an account in the name of Nick Salinger, and they think it was the exorcist but actually it was Earl. Bailey tells Callie that the last time he had sex was 2 years ago. She seduces him and they sleep together. Sarah is throwing a Halloween party and Bailey goes so he won't feel so bad for cheating on her. Julia is upset because Justin is dating a new girl and tries to ruin everything, but regrets and get them back together. Bailey has a fight with Sarah and goes to Callie for comfort, but she is with another guy, so Bailey decides to look for comfort in a beer.
Kate begins dating Jack, a guy that she met at the Warsaw. He interviews for a job at the store, and Drew is disturbed to learn that he thinks he is the devil. He has even taken out credit cards under the name ""The Devil."" Kate is certain that this is a joke, but soon discovers otherwise. When she tries to dump Jack, he claims that she has sold him her soul. Drew puts his own soul on the line and challenges Jack to a game of pool, but it doesn't go very well. Kate confronts Jack and says that he claims to be the devil because he is afraid that women will dump him if he acts like himself. He mocks her, so Drew prepares to beat him up. However, Jack loses interest when he learns that Kate lied about being a virgin. He leaves in disgust. Wick orders all of the staff to wear costumes for Halloween. Drew dresses as Mimi, who is outraged when he wears an outfit that she had already purchased.
Maxwell's father is in town and Fran decides to help end the Sheffield family feud inviting James Sheffield over for dinner. He brings Joan with him, his old secretary for whom he left Max's mother. Now this year her friend Steve wants to find a mask just as scary, but Carly Beth refuses to tell him where she bought hers. At the last minute though, Steve encounters a stranger wearing Carly Beth's old mask, a mysterious man who leads him to a boarded-up novelty shop. Steve elips in through the back door and steals a creepy mask he finds in the basement. What he doesn't realize is that Carly Beth's old mask is alive-and using both Steve and the shopkeeper to get her back!
