The air that surrounds Earth is called the atmosphere. Compared to the size of the Earth, the atmosphere is very, very thin. It’s made from gases – mainly nitrogen, oxygen, and water vapor, with a little argon, carbon dioxide, xenon, neon, helium, and sulfur. The atmosphere does a lot for Earth. It blocks ultraviolet light and burns up a lot of meteors. It traps in heat, keeping Earth cozy. Even clouds are formed in the atmosphere – keeping the Earth wet with rain.

Lawyer Robert Waverly is leaving his mistress' apartment with his video camera when he sees MacLeod locked in combat with an evil Immortal. Waverly makes sure he gets it all on tape -- the fight, the death, the Quickening. He then tries to cut a deal with MacLeod: if MacLeod kills Waverly's wife, then Waverly won't go to the police. When Kurlow, partner of the Immortal MacLeod killed on the tape, comes after MacLeod, Waverly, unaware of what he's dealing with, proposes another deal. A la ""Strangers on a Train,"" Waverly will kill Kurlow and MacLeod will kill Bruno's wife, and no one will suspect a thing. Waverly challenges Kurlow, who kills Waverly easily and MacLeod is left to save Waverly's wife and get rid of Kurlow.

The preliminary ME report shows Crosetti had a blood alcohol level of .25 and wide variety of anti-depressants, The verdict: suicide.

Steve and Griffin organize a holiday rave at an abandoned house. Valerie helps them out in the hopes of getting back in Steve's good graces. David and Clare accidentally post the notice about the event on a computer bulletin board for lesbians, who constitute most of the guests. The house has very poor wiring and continually blows fuses. Griffin uses too much electricity, and the house catches on fire. Ray rescues Steve and Valerie, who were fooling around in one of the bedrooms. Kelly and a girl named Allison are trapped in a downstairs bathroom with no means of escape. The fire fighters try to reach them as they are engulfed by flames. Music:
