Meanwhile, Brian's involvement as the father of Gus causes some relationship strain between Lindsay and Melanie. Michael attempting to continue his straight act, runs into a co-worker in front of the gay bars. Also, Ted finally gets lucky with a guy who he's been denying the advances of all night, but ends up with devastating results.

Feeling utterly powerless, Laura quits her position as magistrate, deciding to defend Miranda and Craig herself. Tucker's bias and corrupted self ensure the case will be impossible to win until Max discovers an anomaly which saves the day...but not the fate of the town. Meanwhile, Monica decides to make candy in order to get to know her neighbours, and while they all love the candy, nobody is particularly interested in Monica herself. Rachel and Tag try to hide their relationship at work, but things go awry when Rachel writes a playful work evaluation of Tag that he accidentally turns in to Human Resources.
