The castaways hear on the radio that a plane is going to be flying over their island, but they will be unable to contact them because their transmitter is broken. Gilligan overhears the Skipper dreaming about repairing a transmitter as he sleeps. The Skipper is unable to remember how he fixed the transmitter from his Navy days, so he attempts to have the dream again, but is unable to fall asleep. Each castaway attempts to help by sneaking two tranquilizers into Skippers mango juice. When Gilligan hits the transmitter out of frustration, it suddenly works! However, when he hits it again in an effort to show the other castaways how he fixed it, it falls completely apart just as the plane flies overhead.
While investigating a bar of fake gold from a supposedly exhausted Indian mine, Dr. Quest discovers an alchemist counterfeit ring (conceived by his nemesis, Dr. Zin, and operated from the palace of an impostor Maharaja) that could bring damage to the global financial market.
Andy Lathrop is an unsophisticated Tennessee boy. Flying as Savage's lead bombardier, he saves Savage's life, gets promoted to 1st Lieutenant, and gets recommended for the DFC. On leave he meets and falls in love with Barmaid Mary Lean and asks her to marry him, she agrees. Later the pub she and her father have is destroyed during an air raid and Mary is killed. Crazed with grief he goes AWOL. He and Savage talk and he reconsiders and returns to duty a little wiser.
Pugsley and Wednesday get into a fight over families with their friend Harold, who says that his family is better than theirs.
Samantha suggests clever slogans for Darrin's Caldwell Soup advertising campaign. Darrin is thrilled until he suspects Samantha of using magic to help. A fight ensues and Samantha goes home to mother. Darrin relents and pitches Sam's slogans to Caldwell. He doesn't like them either. Darrin now realises Sam didn't use any magic.
Wilma's old friend, Bony Hurdle, pays her a visit because he's participating in the Bedrock rodeo, but Fred gets jealous and decides to compete, too.
Mammoth Pictures is in danger of getting torn down, but Hedda Hopper wants to save it. She shows Jed the legacy of the stars of the studio, who stuck their hand prints in cement for the Walk of Fame. Misunderstanding this, Jed works to fill the prints in with wet cement.
