There are Betas, like Eric, who alternate work and ""sleep"" modes with the Alphas. And then there is the Elite, who form a privileged aristocracy that rules over the Alphas and Betas. In the face of increasing pressure from stasis-jumpers of the Resistance, the Elite insists that extreme measures are necessary for survival of the species. Their plan, however, doesn't account for the power of the human heart. Larissa and Eric have fallen in love even though their only contact, other than furtive holographic messages, is when they trade places in the stasis pod they share.

Pilot two refuses to communicate with the crew, not wanting to reveal his own complicity in the murky circumstances surrounding his installment as Moya's guide.

The kids have just won a sledding race. Token says that the only reason they won is because of Eric's fat ass. The girls challenge the boys to a sledding race down Phil Collins Hill. Token says that the boys can't lose thanks to Eric's fat ass. Eric then tosses a rock into the side of Token's head. The FBI claim that this was a hate crime and Cartman is sent to jail. Can the other boys bust Cartman out in time for the big race?

Mr. Wick returns from his retraining and begins duty in the mail room. He again vows revenge against Drew. On the morning of a major sale, a cowboy ambushes Drew in his back yard and ties him up. Mimi pleads for a chance at the manager position. Soulard agrees to give her one day to prove that she can run the store. Felicity quits, but Greg persuades her to return. She takes a volunteer position. While working in the records office, Ben snoops in Greg's file and discovers that he was busted for cocaine possession. Noel convinces him to keep the information under wraps for the time being. After Sean and Richard show him footage of Felicity and Greg on a date, Ben goes to the clinic and threatens Greg. Greg shares the truth with Felicity and assures her that he has been clean for years. Felicity angrily confronts Ben, who points out that she read his file a year earlier.
