The crew returns from a Commerce Planet with a load of Crackers and a meek alien called Traltixx, who promises he can alter Moya's electromagnetics to make her untraceable. Crichton is skeptical; it seems too good to be true. As they pass through a constellation of pulsars, an intense paranoia affects the crew, turning them violently again each other. Crichton must fight against his own paranoid delusions to work out what Traltixx is actually doing and how to stop him.
Julie has difficulty sleeping because of nightmares about Zach. Felicity recommends that she talk to someone, but Julie doesn't feel she is ready. A student visits the clinic to obtain the morning-after pill, only to discover that the university will no longer distribute it. An outraged Felicity turns to Greg, who cannot take any action because he fears losing the little support the clinic has. Felicity organizes a sit-in, which freshman advisee Burkey helps turn into a major protest. Felicity wants to call the whole thing off after Greg gets in trouble, but the others refuse to leave. Dr. Porter is brought in to convince Felicity to give up. She refuses, and Greg decides to join the demonstration. After witnessing Kelly's indignant reaction, he decides not to tell her about his one-night stand. Kelly insists that Matt is still hiding something from her. She later apologizes for failing to trust him. Camille tries to convince Donna to sell her clothing online. Although Donna doesn't support the idea, Camille seeks out Dylan as an investor. Even after Donna agrees to the proposal, David fumes at Camille for going behind her back. He also expresses discontent at the amount of time she is spending with Dylan. Donna agrees to a date with the web page designer. Steve and Janet fear that her parents' dog is to blame for the death of their snooty neighbors' pet rabbit. Steve concocts a scheme to keep the couple from discovering the truth.

Zandra went into labour and was rushed to hospital where she gave birth to a baby boy. Helen finally arrived at the prison, resulting in Jim being annoyed that his dreams of promotion were once again shattered. New warden Karen Betts started work - she and Jim have met before it seems. Robin promised to visit Zandra at Larkhall in the future but then took the baby and left when drugs were discovered in Zandra's cell. Zandra then lost it and ran to the prison roof, threatening to jump off! Dominic saved her from a nasty death though by nearly falling off the roof himself! Nikki told Helen that she can't control her feelings for her but Helen still denied she returns the feelings.
